Dr Niki Vincent will serve another 4-year term as Public Sector Gender Equality Commissioner.

Since 2020, Dr Vincent has led the implementation of the Gender Equality Act. This legislation covers around 300 public sector organisations in Victoria.

“My focus has been on helping organisations grow their understanding of gender inequality in the workplace and broader community,” Dr Vincent said.

"With this foundational work in place, and as we move into the next 4-year cycle, I expect to see greater progress."

Key achievements include:

  • establishing a reporting platform to hold the most comprehensive dataset of its kind
  • publishing audit data and Gender Equality Action Plans for each organisation
  • establishing a targeted research program.

Dr Vincent has been an influential voice on gender equality in Victoria and beyond. She has met with hundreds of organisations across the state. Over the past 4 years, she has had almost 1000 public engagements.

The Commission will release key findings from the first reporting cycle later this year.
